I don't have enough projects for all the pieces I have collected. So you will find them at Vintage Home Shop and in some of my favorite shops on Etsy. English Shop English Shop
My name is Camille...I live in Surfside Beach, South Carolina with my wonderful husband Bob. It's always been a dream for us to live near the beach. It inspires us. I haven't lived my whole life here but have lived on both coasts and Europe. While I have spent most of my adult life in Maryland home is where the heart is...and for now, it's here. I am named after my mother who raised me with a love and appreciation for antiques and vintage items...and most importantly, creatively using what you already have. For the last few years I have had lots of friends, locally and around the world, follow me on Etsy. I have a little Vintage shop, I shop locally and around the region. I go to small thrift shops, the Goodwill, auctions and farm auctions. For me, the process is simple. I go, I look, I hunt, I shoot, I drag it out of the store. (I hunt with my camera but I love the metaphor of hunting!) In the last few months I have had friends come and ask me about the shop. They see my posts, usually my "SOLD ! ! !" posts on facebook. I didn't realize that people were watching and dreaming about doing this themselves. As soon as someone asks I go right into my "method". I believed it was common knowledge....apparently not. Most times their eyes glaze over...they are often overwhelmed by the amount of information I throw at them. If you are considering entering this most creative arena be sure to ponder the full picture. If you enjoy the researching of each little item you sell, if you enjoy writing about these pieces, shipping these pieces, communicating with customers (even when they are not happy) and the easiest of these tasks....shopping. It could be for you. A dear friend in England, Eve, of The English Shop and My Little French Shop, That simple phrase empowered me and remined me of my role in the store. I have helped launch a few shops on Etsy and would love to help encourage you. In the continuing blogs I will "show and tell" my process. I believe this will be more encouragment than technical knowledge of the internet but when I learn something, I will pass it on. Leave any questions you may have and I'll do my best to guide you... Camille Vintage Home Shop I happened to notice Cathrineholm designs on Pinterest...classic mid century modern to me...with a touch of Scandinavian. The Lotus design intrigued me. During a romp through Goodwill, I love my romps by the way, I found a basket of nick nacks and inside this little collection were three spice jars. Could they be Cathrineholm? I peeked at the base and found a Made in Japan sticker. Uh? Well a quick google search on my phone revealed that, yes, Cathrineholm manufactured in Japan for the American market. Good to know. I bought the basket for a song. Took them home. Posted them on my Etsy Shop and a mere 6 hours later they were sold to a collector in Norway. That day my love affair with Cathrineholm began. Because of the sale. No. Because of the beauty and the simple design of the pieces. The more research I do, the deeper my obsession becomes. The designer responsible for this striking collection was a woman by the name of Grete Prytz Kittelsen and is she if oft times referred to as the “Queen of Scandinavian Design”. I will continue to search and research the collection. I hope to send them on to
collectors...so let me know if you are interested and I will give you first chance before I list them. Add your name and e-mail address below. Christina over at The Olive Tree Blog is running a giveaway today!

Treasuries on Etsy feature vintage and handmade items...these are ones I collected in the story of Serena. Little Serena is a baby who underwent open heart surgery at 8 days old. All of the blood was drained from her body, her core temperature was taken to hypothermia, her heart was repaired and then her heart was restarted. She is only a couple months old now, but she is the bravest "little woman" I have ever know. I muse over her life as an adult...because I know she will live and thrive.
